Then again, just because being a real exterminator isn’t all that exciting doesn’t mean that there’s no way to have some fun with the concept. That’s the idea behind Betsoft’s latest online slot machine: The Exterminator. The Exterminator is a five-reel, 30-payline slot machine that allows players to wager between one and five coins on each of their active paylines. There are also five different denominations of coins available, making the game accessible to players of all budgets.
In The Exterminator, you’ll follow along with the adventures of exterminator Alvin Goodman. Alvin has been called out to a rustic cabin to deal with a very specific infestation: a raccoon who has been taking residence inside the building. Throughout the game, you’ll get to watch Alvin and the raccoon do battle, including seeing the raccoon constantly torment Alvin around the screen while you play through your spins.
Considering the theme, it’s no surprise that the symbols you’ll be matching revolve around the game’s woodsy theme. There are raccoons, garbage cans (knocked over, of course), a welcome mat, and even the exterminator himself. It’s Alvin who offers the biggest prizes: up to 500 credits for each coin wagered if you manage to hit five of him on the same payline.
The Exterminator also features one of the more original special features you’ll find anywhere in online slots. The Sticky Win feature occurs whenever you make a winning combination of symbols, and offers you the chance to increase your winnings at no cost. Any winning symbols will stay in place, but the rest of the symbol positions will respin. If this results in any new wins, those symbols will also stick in place, and the process will continue until either all symbols are stuck, or no new winning combinations are made. Only after this is completed will you be awarded your wins.
There are other, more traditional bonus features as well. For instance, the exterminator’s truck can appear on any reel, making the entire reel wild – unless it takes place during a sticky win, in which case it will wait until all your respins are completed before expanding (and potentially increasing your wins even further).
Another traditional game that’s included in The Exterminator is a free spins game, which takes place if you find five or more “footprints” symbols on the reels. During your free spins, you’ll receive random multipliers of as much as 5x on your winnings. Finally, hit five or more blueprint symbols and you’ll play a second screen bonus round where you’ll chase the raccoon and attempt to figure out where he’s hiding in order to win instant bonus credits. There’s even a Double Up “gamble” game you can play after most wins, a feature rarely seen on Betsoft games.
Betsoft’s The Exterminator is definitely a welcome addition to the company’s 3D slots lineup, and is a nice change of pace after the similar nature of a few of their recent releases such as the Slots Angels and Black Gold slot games.
