Rome Casino Review

UPDATE: We no longer recommend Rome Casino. Please visit www.DrakeCasino.eu

If you read enough reviews of online casinos, they start to blend together. Since most casinos are based on one of a few popular software packages, the differences between the various casinos are usually rather small.

Sometimes, though, a casino decides to go in a different direction. One such site is Rome Casino, a new site that is available worldwide and has made a point of targeting the USA market. This new entry into the online casino field may not quite be up to the standards of some of the big name sites yet, but it’s quickly gaining steam and definitely shows plenty of promise.

Rome Casino Promotions

Rome Casino has done a great job coming up with some exciting promotions in order to attract new players. The biggest one is “Romulus’ Welcome Bonus,” a bonus that allows you to earn large matching percentage deposit bonuses (starting at 200% and falling to 100% on later deposits) over your first ten deposits. These bonuses have a total value of $10,000, meaning that even high rollers should be able to get plenty of value out of them. There are also additional bonuses and promotions that offer cash back on deposits, as well as 15% cash back on your table games play. At many casinos, you’d need to be a VIP before seeing similar rewards; the fact that Rome Casino gives them out as soon as you join the site is a welcome change of pace.

Rome Casino Software

Rome Casino is one of the first casinos to utilize TopGame’s software package. TopGame is a new software developer that was founded in 2008, and is currently being used by only a handful of casinos.

The first thing you’ll notice at Rome Casino is the lack of a browser-based version of the casino. This is a surprising absence, as almost all online casinos now have instant play casinos. If you’re looking to play in your browser, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

That said, the downloadable client is beautiful. The elegant red and black color scheme truly creates the feeling of a high-end casino. Functionally, the casino client works very well; the lobby tab is cleanly organized with seven different groups of games, while each game you play opens into a new tab. In our experience, all of the games run smoothly and are easy to play, with large betting areas making it easy to place your wagers.

Rome Casino Games

The biggest weakness of Rome Casino (for now) is the relative lack of games they can have to offer players. We counted about 70 games in total in the Rome Casino collection, though that number includes some duplicate slot machines that are available in versions with different numbers of paylines.

Slots are definitely the main focus at Rome Casino, and there’s a good mix between classic three-reel slots and five-reel video slot machines. When it comes to the video slots, the games mostly feature cartoonish graphics and standard action that you’d expect to see at most online casinos: wild and scatter symbols, along with a bonus game or two.

For instance, take the Lucky Fishing game. This five-reel, 20 line slot will have you matching all kinds of fishing-themed symbols, including reels, lures, fish and fishermen. Crabs serve as both the highest value symbol and the wild substitute. There’s one bonus game that’s triggered if you hit three “lucky fisherman” symbols; this triggers “The Big Cash,” a game that can earn you thousands of bonus credits. That’s it – it’s a simple, straightforward slot machine that is both easy on the eyes and simple to play.

The three-reel “classic” slots are similar, offering games that are visually attractive but straightforward in their gameplay. Take Bankroll Reload, for instance. This game can be played in versions that have one, three or five paylines, with each payline being played for anywhere between $0.01 and $5. The object of the game is just to match bars, stars, and sevens to win prizes.

There are a number of table games available at Rome Casino, though you might notice a few omissions. Blackjack is available in both single-hand and multihand modes, and we really liked that a basic strategy chart was accessible from right in the game screen. There’s also a Double Exposure variation in which both of the dealer’s cards are visible. There are two different versions of roulette (both of which use the favorable single-zero wheels), along with baccarat and Casino War. And that’s really it – you won’t find craps, Three Card Poker, Caribbean Stud or any other games spread by most online casinos.

In addition, Rome Casino also offers four different video poker games, representing the most popular video poker machines: Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, Joker Poker, and Deuces and Joker. These machines are all single-hand games with generally strong pay tables; for instance, the Jacks or Better game features the full pay 9/6 pay table, which returns over 99.5% to players.

Finally, the game selection at Rome Casino is rounded out by two additional games. There is a fairly standard keno game, as well as a scratch card game called Weed Whacker, in which you can win up to 80 times the cost of your ticket instantly.

Rome Casino Deposit Options

One place where Rome Casino is definitely near the top of the heap is in their support for many different payment options. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are all accepted, as are Diners Club cards. When it comes to e-wallet sites, you can choose from a wide variety of them, including NETeller, Moneybookers, Click2Pay, UseMywallet and ewalletXpress, among others. Bank wires are also offered, and prepaid Ukash vouchers are can also be used to fund accounts.

Rome Casino Customer Service

Rome Casino has done a great job of integrating their customer service options directly into the casino client. There is a sidebar available while you play in the casino that will give you instant access to live chat help any time you need it. In addition, there’s 24/7 phone support, as well as a fax line and an email address where you can direct any questions or concerns.
