The True Sheriff is a Western-themed slot which sees good meet bad, as you play as the town Sheriff taking on the villain. As with all online slots in 3D, you can expect sensational graphics to enhance your playing experience, various bonus features, and big wins!
Set in the fictional Western town of High Noon, The True Sheriff sees you take on the villain who has put fear into the locals and has his sights set on robbing the Saloon. It is a 5-reel, 30-payline slot machine with a maximum win of 750,000 coins, set on the side of the Sheriff’s office with your typical Western-style scenery as a background for the game. Throughout gameplay the Sheriff is on display and as is typical in a Betsoft 3D slot there are some basic actions he does while you’re spinning the reels, such as: lighting a cigarette, twirling his Colt-45 gun, tilting his hat as if he is about to sleep, and sometimes he also takes his hat off and wipes sweat from his brow.
As you can expect from a Betsoft Slots3 game, there are many features on offer. One we particularly liked was the ‘Double Up’ bonus game. You simply click the double up button on the screen and are whisked away to the Saloon where you must guess the colour of the next playing card, simply choosing the Red or Black option. If you win you double your credits and can continue doubling them, but lose and you lose it all so be careful. Unfortunately this option isn’t available after a free spins, wild spins, or second screen bonus game, but it gives you the chance of turning a small win into a much larger one.
Next up there is the free spins feature, which sees the game turn to night time and the saloon lights come on. The free spins mode is triggered by hitting three or more Sheriff’s badges, with three earning you 60 coins plus 10 free spins, four badges earns you 300 credits plus 12 free spins, and five badges earns you 3000 credits and 15 free spins. These all add up to some big wins so are always welcome, plus a tally is kept of how many Sheriff’s badges land during the free spins mode and you get a cash bonus at the end.
If you manage to land the Gun symbol on the third reel of the slot machine you will trigger the ‘Wild Guns’ feature which also brings some generous wins. Once the symbol lands on the third reel, the Sheriff will then shoot at the reels and turn up to five of the symbols into Wilds instead. These Wilds bring you automatic prizes with three being worth 30 credits, four worth 300, and five worth 3000. The slot will then spin with your Wilds in place – giving even more chances of a big win.
Finally, there is also a second-screen bonus game which we have become accustomed to in 3D slots from Betsoft. This feature is called the ‘Showdown Bonus’ and is triggered when you land the Gun symbol between the Sheriff and the Bad Guy symbols on reels 1,2, 3 or 3, 4, 5. The feature begins with a cinematic clip in true Showdown style and features six win levels for you to aim for. Simply choose Heads or Tails in a coin flip and if you choose correctly you win coins and advance to the next level. You have two lives in this feature with 30 coins taken from you the first time you choose the wrong option, and 90 coins the second time – with the game ending after two wrong choices.
The True Sheriff slot machine is a welcome addition to the Betsoft range of games and the theme has already proved very popular amongst players. Sadly while reviewing the slot we found there were only small frequent wins, unlike larger wins we found on the other slot games. The free spins mode was most rewarding for us, and we only managed to play the Showdown Bonus feature once out of hundreds of spins.
