NetEnt created a division in North America last year and had a goal to create a top-rated portfolio of online casino games that are considered the best in the industry, for both the United States and Canada. To speed up their process of integration into North America, NetEnt entered into a cross-license agreement of Intellectual Property Patent with IGT in June of this year. This license allowed NetEnt to track their entry into North America since IGT already offers gaming in this region. Many popular features of IGT have been integrated into NetEnt offerings for gamers to enjoy.
While waiting on licensing in New Jersey, NetEnt’s division in North America moved forward and created deals in the online gaming industry with Caesars Interactive and NJ Bwin-Borgata. It has also been rumored that the company is looking to work with Pennsylvania if they begin to offer online gaming. The state has yet to approve legislation for online poker or casino gaming but there are bills on the table. NetEnt has the potential to continue to provide quality gaming for residents in multiple areas across the United States if additional states begin to legalize and regulate such gaming options.
