Jim Ryan is the CEO of Pala Interactive who commented that he was surprised to see how quickly players adapted to the mobile option. Pala has not marketed the mobile application and already business has been boosted by about 25%. While not marketing the new application in the beginning, the online casino will now push forward with a plan, working with the New Jersey Transit to advertise via public transportation.
According to Ryan, the trains will have advertisements and will invite players to take part in game play via a mobile device. With the launch of the application, Pala is one of the last in New Jersey to offer iOS gaming. They actually are the 10th, which means only Resorts remains as the only operator that does not have an application for iPhone users.
Despite online gambling having been legal in New Jersey for almost two years, players can still be hesitant to log online. When an online casino has an application in the Apple store, it gives the industry validity. It helps those who may have been worried about the activity to take part. Ryan feels that since Pala is now offering an iOS application in the app store, the casino has more credibility and more players will be willing to log online.
While the iOS application was just launched by Pala, Android users have been enjoying the gaming software for some time. In fact, Pala just recently released a second version of the Android gaming software. The application was cut to 30 MB from 150MB to offer a smaller, but more efficient product.
Ryan stated that they cut the app to create a richer experience without giving up the player experience. By the end of September, players who use the mobile casino of Pala will be able to take part in 84 games. This is quite an impressive number since many mobile casinos only start out with a handful of games. The standard includes blackjack and roulette, sometimes sicbo and baccarat. At Pala, players have the option to enjoy the same games plus slots, video poker and additional table games.
While visiting Pala Casino via desktop, players have access to 160 games. Ryan does believe this number will change as mobile products have become the greater demand. Ryan stated that the industry will see a transition in the next year and he predicts that within a year’s time frame, the casino will be earning 50 to 60 percent of their income will be from smartphones.
